This transfer field encompasses projects focused on the common good, in which external partners are involved in the development of research questions, the research process, and the development of solutions. This collaboration provides an important impetus for research and empowers the partners to take action. The project goals are achieved through co-creative formats involving partners from academia and society. External partners can come from all sectors of society — nonprofit organizations, civil society actors, local governments, patients, citizens, politics, culture, or businesses. Distinctive features: focus on the common good, no exchange of services, no profit motive, participation and empowerment of external partners, and cooperation on an equal footing.

Klimapakt Flensburg e.V.
Since 2008, Klimapakt Flensburg e.V. has been bringing together companies, institutions, and public bodies in the Flensburg region to pursue ambitious climate protection goals. Among other things, the aim is to achieve CO₂ neutrality in the city by 2050 and to raise awareness of climate-friendly behavior through a variety of projects and public relations work.

The Bioblitz project makes it possible to expand knowledge about species in a fun way while also collecting valuable data on biodiversity on campus.
VISION
The VISION project focuses on developing local visions for a just transition in Mpumalanga, South Africa, a region heavily dependent on coal mining. The project aims to translate the abstract concept of a just transition into concrete strategies, particularly in the Global South.

Open Electricity Grid Optimization. The project open_eGo aims to develop a transparent, inter-grid-level operating grid planning tool to investigate economic viable grid expansion scenarios considering alternative flexibility options such as storages or redispatch.
