This transfer field focuses on applying one’s own ideas, knowledge, and research findings and developments to the establishment of new enterprises (profit or non-profit). This is supported by fostering an entrepreneurial mindset as a problem-solving and creative skill, as well as by imparting knowledge on setting up a business. The start-up project follows a multi-stage process, beginning with raising awareness, moving on to fleshing out the start-up idea, and culminating in market entry. The Jackstädt Zentrum Flensburg, jointly run by the Europa-Universität and the University of Applied Sciences Flensburg, is your partner for all matters relating to business start-ups and SME management.
The Dock1 is the right place to go for all questions relating to self-employment and starting a business on the Flensburg campus, both digitally and on site in the Audimax (basement). As a joint institution of the European University of Flensburg and Flensburg University of Applied Sciences, the Dock1 incubator provides free support to all students and university members on topics such as:
- Idea development and prototyping (e.g. FabLab IDEENREICH)
- Business model development and business plans
- Registration of businesses and freelance self-employment
- Establishment of associations and companies
- Patent and trademark registration
- Marketing and sales
- Support and mentoring specifically for female founders
- Financing and start-up grants
- Start-up network, growth and internationalization
In addition, Dock1 regularly offers exciting workshops and start-up lectures, free workspaces in the Audimax (UG), and access to the Flensburg start-up community.
