General FAQ

No error message when typing in wrong information

When you login into eduroam, there is no indication if the login data is correctly inserted. The most common reason for not being able to connect is typing in the wrong username and/or password. It might make sense to type the password out in a document first and paste it into the tool.

Required login data for students

The login name is your student id ("Matrikelnummer") and @uni-flensburg.de combined.

UsernamePassword
<student id>@uni-flensburg.de<your network login>
Example: 123456@uni-flensburg.deExample: zQaFyAtaPWs8Dc

Because eduroam is a global network, you have to add @uni-flensburg.de at the end of your student id number, so the system can know which institution it needs to verify with. Please do not use “@studierende.uni-flensburg.de”!

Required login data for employees

The login name is your DOZ- or VER-name and “@uni-flensburg.de” combined:

NutzernamePasswort

Example: DOZFK4BER@uni-flensburg.deExample: zQaFyAtaPWs8Dc

Because eduroam is a global network, you have to add @uni-flensburg.de at the end of your DOZ-/VER-name, so the system can know which institution it needs to verify with. Please do not use your employee email address.

The installation program installs certificates. These are essential for a secure, encrypted connection. Additionally, they help prevent connection issues.
