Research Centers at Europa-Universität Flensburg
Europa-Universität Flensburg has designated research centers for each of its core research areas. As central hubs of scholarship and exchange on campus, the centers advance research within their respective fields across institutes and disciplines. The Center for Research on Education, Teaching, Schooling, and Socialization (ZeBUSS) conducts research using a pluralistic theoretical and methodological approach, applying both quantitative and qualitative methods to study educational and socialization processes within and beyond schools. Through its interdisciplinary orientation, ZeBUSS supports researchers in developing answers to questions concerning the societal, political, and media-related contexts of education and socialization.
The Interdisciplinary Centre for European Studies (ICES) brings together research approaches from the fields of cultural studies, humanities and social sciences, media studies, and economics. Interdisciplinary and international in scope, ICES aims to help scholars identify and explore Europe's multi-layered structures and processes from the perspectives of the social sciences and humanities.
The Center for Research on Sustainability and Transformation (CREST) conducts problem-, process- and solution-oriented and practical research on transformation and sustainability. The research center combines the perspectives of various disciplines from the natural and technical sciences, social sciences and humanities.
The aim of the profiling centers is to promote and link research activities and researchers in qualification phases at the EUF. In addition, the centers strengthen the national and international networking of our researchers.
