Research Centers at Europa-Universität Flensburg

Europa-Universität Flensburg has designated research centers for each of its core research areas. As central hubs of scholarship and exchange on campus, the centers advance research within their respective fields across institutes and disciplines. The Center for Research on Education, Teaching, Schooling and Socialization (ZeBUSS) promotes research in the educational sciences, with a special focus on teaching and education in non-school places of learning.

The Interdisciplinary Centre for European Studies (ICES) brings together research approaches from the fields of cultural studies, humanities and social sciences, media studies, and economics. Interdisciplinary and international in scope, ICES aims to help scholars identify and explore Europe's multi-layered structures and processes from the perspectives of the social sciences and humanities.

Both ZeBUSS and ICES offer a full program of regular colloquia, conferences, summer schools, and other events that cut across EUF disciplines. In the day-to-day, individual researchers will also find here expert advising services and support for funding proposals — from the initial project idea through to the completed application, administrative support for existing projects, and academic editing services for international papers and proposals.
