EMERGE is an alliance of nine European universities – including Europa-Universität Flensburg. Our aim is to strengthen regions beyond the major European centres and to connect them more closely with Europe and the world. Universities work together with students, staff, businesses, initiatives, and people in the regions to promote opportunities, networking, and collaboration at local, regional, and European level.
Shaping Europe's Universities Together
Since 2025, EMERGE has held the status of "European University". The Alliance opens up new opportunities for all those involved: international experiences, joint projects, mobility, collaborations, and innovative educational and research offerings – within universities and beyond, in the regions.
What concrete added value does EMERGE offer – and for whom?
EMERGE stands for Empowering the Margins of Europe through Regional and Global Engagement
- Strengthening international collaboration in higher education
