EMERGE Staff Week 2026 in Norway
The Staff Week focused on advancing joint initiatives within the European University Alliance EMERGE. Through workshops and presentations, participants explored the development of joint degree programmes, the expansion of digital infrastructure and quality assurance. Research collaboration between partner universities, student engagement in alliance activities and the strategic development of EMERGE were also key topics.
Alongside the professional programme, the week offered opportunities to discover more about Norway’s landscape and culture. A bus trip through a Norwegian national park in the mountains gave participants an insight into the region. A choir from Lillehammer enriched the programme with a musical performance. Several guided tours also gave participants the opportunity to learn more about the region’s history.
The Staff Week provided ample opportunity to discuss the progress of joint initiatives and plan next steps. At the same time, participants had the chance to get to know the host institution, INN, and the surrounding region of Norway better.
The European University of Flensburg was also represented in Norway. The delegation included President Prof. Dr Christiane Hipp, staff members working in different areas of EMERGE, and Luisa Struck and Malik Danish as student representatives on the EMERGE Student Advisory Board.
The next EMERGE meeting will take place at the European University of Flensburg from 24 to 28 May.
We would like to thank our colleagues at the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences for their hospitality and for organising the Staff Week.
