New EMERGE Training Opportunities for University Staff

EMERGE’s new training programme offers practical workshops for university staff on innovative teaching, intercultural education and inclusive learning.

The training programme was jointly developed by all EMERGE partner universities. It is aimed at staff working in a range of areas, including teaching, student support, academic advising and university administration. The focus is on methods and tools that participants can apply in their own work.

Two key areas

Challenge-Based and Service-Based Learning

How can learning be connected to real-world societal challenges? This area explores teaching and learning approaches in which students work on concrete issues, actively engage with them and contribute to developing solutions together. The links between universities and the wider society in which they operate also play an important role.

Intercultural and Inclusive Education

Diverse groups of learners bring different experiences, perspectives and needs. The workshops introduce practical approaches to removing barriers, taking different learning needs into account and fostering a respectful learning environment.

Flexible and practical

The workshops can be attended independently of one another. Participants can register for individual workshops or several sessions. No prior knowledge is required. The interactive formats offer opportunities to explore new approaches, work through case studies and take away ideas for their own practice in higher education.

The training programme is a key component of EMERGE’s European Pathway and supports the ongoing development of teaching and higher education across the alliance.
