The TOEIC 4-Skills tests assess, in a single test session, the level of oral and written comprehension as well as oral and written expression skills in English — from beginner to advanced levels — in professional and everyday contexts.
The certification includes detailed comments on the candidate’s ability to be understood by both native and non-native English speakers, to participate in conversations, express opinions, and produce written documents (e.g., emails, presentations, etc.).
General Information
English is the language of professional opportunities. The TOEIC 4-Skills certification enables you to:
- validate the required level of English for an academic institution in order to obtain a degree or gain access to higher education. The EUF European Studies program accepts TOEIC as proof of English proficiency. In addition, some ERASMUS partner universities may also accept TOEIC (in this regard, please contact outgoing@uni-flensburg.de); and
- enhance your employability by distinguishing yourself from other candidates when planning an internal or international mobility project, applying for a job, or considering a promotion.
IMPORTANT: The TOEIC® is not accepted as proof of language proficiency for the partial degree program in English (within the B.A. in Educational Sciences)!

Please note that there are no penalties for incorrect answers in the multiple-choice sections.
Your results and your digital score report will be available in your online account within 10 working days of the test date. You will also receive an email notification when your digital score report is ready.
