This is what your studies will look like – semester by semester

In the first and second semesters of your master’s in Vocational School Teaching (Nutrition and Domestic Science), you’ll attend courses in Vocational Education, where you’ll learn, for example, the difference between general and vocational education.

Of course, you’ll also study Nutrition and Domestic Science, focusing on topics like field-based teaching and food technology.

Additionally, you’ll deepen your knowledge in the general education subject you already took in your bachelor’s program.

In the third semester, you’ll continue studying Vocational Education and your general education subject, but you’ll also complete a practical phase in a school. This experience will be reflected upon in an accompanying seminar to ensure you don’t have to process your experiences alone and continue developing professionally.

If you’d like to broaden your horizons with a stay abroad, this is the perfect time to do so.

In the final semester, you’ll write your master’s thesis, which can be thematically rooted in any of your three subjects – Vocational Education, Nutrition and Domestic Science, or your general education subject.

In addition, you’ll attend your final courses in Vocational Education and Nutrition and Domestic Science.

Want to know all the details?

Off into the world: Your semester abroad

If you want to expand on your theoretical and practical experience from your bachelor’s and the first semesters of your master’s and test it in a completely different environment, studying abroad or completing a practical phase abroad is a great option.

This way, you can experience first-hand that schools don’t operate the same way everywhere as they do in Germany.

At EUF, we make it easy for you to choose this adventure: You’ll receive organizational support from our International Center, financial assistance through the Erasmus+ program, and a designated time frame so that your master’s studies usually won’t be extended.

You’ll have access to nearly 90 partner universities worldwide; as a free mover, you’ll have an even wider selection.

However, studying abroad is not mandatory. If you prefer to stay, you can simply take additional courses in your subjects.
