The Implications and Consequences of Immigration on the Economy: A Case Study on the Europein Far-Left Political Parties

"The last two decades of Europein politics faced numerous crises and Milestones which changed the discourse and the landscape of the political arena. These ground-breaking developments lead to a surge of populist discourse on both the far-right and far-left politics, albeit on different levels. While the far-right successfully capitalised on the issue of immigration, relying on the resentment from the native populations and especially the perceived cultural and economic threats, the far-left has been relatively quiet, failing to develop a coherent alternative vision; although inherently far-left politics relied on class-based and economy focused interpretation of the world. The populist discourse started to increase its influence over the rhetoric of the far-left political parties and this research paces its focus on and aims to answer the following question: 'How do the European far-left political parties react to the implications and consequences of immigration on the economy?'"
