The conference is organised by the trinational research project "Urban Platform Economies" at the University of Flensburg, the University of Graz, the University of Zurich and the University of Vienna.

The conference aims to bring together a wide range of feminist perspectives on platform capitalism, with a particular focus on its impact in the field of care work. Contributions will come from scholars across various disciplines and career stages.

At the same time, the conference seeks to provide a space for vivid discussions on possible futures of this type of labour. A keynote will be given by Professor Kristina Zampoukos (Mid Sweden University). In addition, a panel discussion titled "Current Perspectives and Future Challenges of Feminist Research on Platform Economies" will feature Dr. Barbara Orth (IRS Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space), Yannick Ecker (University of Halle), Olivia Blanchard (Independent researcher and consultant), and Dr. Mê-Linh Riemann (Europa-Universität Flensburg), chaired by Prof. Emma Dowling (University of Vienna).

The program will include a variety of formats such as oral presentations and a thematically pre-organized panel, accommodating both academic and activist approaches.

The conference is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Austrian Science Fund (FWF), the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) and the Interdisciplinary Centre for European Studies at the Europa Universität Flensburg (ICES).
