Curriculum Vitae
Mohsen Mansouri has been a researcher at Europa-Universität Flensburg since June 2026. After around six years of professional experience in the power, oil, and gas sectors, he transitioned to energy transition research. During his Master's studies in Energy and Environmental Management at Europa-Universität Flensburg, he worked as a student research assistant in the OptIES project, contributing to the analysis and optimisation of sector-coupled energy systems.
Prior to joining Europa-Universität Flensburg, he worked as a researcher at the Reiner Lemoine Institute (RLI) in Berlin. There, he contributed to the projects freeGon, Smart statt Gas, and KWP connect, focusing on grid data validation, transmission grid planning, energy system modelling with PyPSA-Eur, and distribution grid analyses to support municipal heat planning.
He is currently involved in the project SPREAD.SH, which examines the interactions between electricity market design, redispatch, and price zone configurations in Germany. In the project Biogas.SH, he investigates the role of biogas flexibility, gas-electricity sector coupling, and future utilisation pathways for renewable gases.
He holds a Master's degree in Energy and Environmental Management from Europa-Universität Flensburg, a Master's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering from the Materials and Energy Research Center in Iran, and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Arak University.
