Registering for Courses | An Explanation of the Registration Process

Before the semester begins, decide which courses you would like to take. To do this, submit your course registration requests online within a specified time frame; available seats will then be assigned. The process is divided into three phases. – The portal you use for registration depends on your degree program and semester—see below for an overview.

Course Registration in 3 Steps

The course registration process in three phases

  1. Registration phase

During this period, you can enter your course registration requests in Studiport or the EUF Portal.

  2. Allocation phase

The available places are then allocated based on the registration requests you submitted — the allocation is carried out by an algorithm.

  3. Remaining places

    First come, first served

Places that were not allocated during the allocation phase can be registered here. This lets you adjust the outcome individually, as long as places are still available.

Process The three phases run consecutively — from submitting your requests, through algorithmic allocation, to registering for remaining places.
