Welcome to the Master of Arts Program Kultur – Sprache – Medien!
Understanding cultures, crossing borders: The MA Kultur – Sprache – Medien prepares you to become an expert in intercultural communication across German-, English-, Scandinavian-, and Romance-language contexts. The program combines six disciplines - Art/Visual Culture, Cultural Studies, Media Studies, Literary Studies, Linguistics, and Intercultural Business Administration - into a unique interdisciplinary profile that opens up diverse career opportunities.
The Master of Arts program Culture – Language – Media (KSM) is a two-year, full-time post-graduate program through seminars, lectures, project, presentation and examination (ECTS: 120 credits). The KSM program focuses on the study of cultural modernity in Language and Literature as well as Culture, Art, Textiles, Media and Business Studies at the interfaces of the Baltic, North Sea and North Atlantic zones. Credits are gained by research-oriented, postgraduate study of the culture, literature, language and visual media (arts, fashion, film) of German, Scandinavian and English-speaking Atlantic countries. KSM offers the only postgraduate study program in Europe with this research constellation.
Fulfilling your language proficiency requirement
If you are currently enrolled in your 1st semester of KSM and were admitted under the condition that you must provide proof of language proficiency during your first semester by completing an exam or attending a language course, then - and only then - please submit the following to Dr. Machat:
- Your language certificate or completion certificate from the language course
- The form linked here

Information for Graduates
Graduates of the MA Kultur - Sprache - Medien who would like to stay up to date regarding current developments and events of the Masters' program have the possibility to subscribe to a news mailinglist curated especially for graduates.
