Teaching and Education Day on November 19, 2025
Diversity at University
On Teaching and Education Day 2025, we would like to initiate a comprehensive exchange on dealing with heterogeneity in the higher education context. Diversity is broadly defined here – as disciplinary, professional, social, cultural, linguistic, cognitive, and methodological-didactic diversity – and will be addressed at various different levels: diversity in the seminar room, as a hallmark of teaching and higher education, and in dealing with diversity and maintaining it as a central requirement in students' future professional lives.
Methodological diversity also plays a central role: it is not only an expression of an appreciative approach to heterogeneity, but it is also considered as an essential quality feature in both university teaching and school education.
Students can obtain the ‘Fit für Vielfalt’ certificate as part of Teaching and Education Day 2025 if they register for the relevant events and workshops.
The main language for all programmed sessions will be German. Nevertheless, it is possible to switch to other languages for posing questions or in working groups. The possible languages can be found in the program overview. It is not planned to translate all events in full, but we will support mutual understanding in this regard as much as possible.
Please find details of content of the workshops on the German website.
Here you can access an overview of the program (PDF in German language), indicating a.o. possible other languages.
