This is what your studies will look like – semester by semester

On your marks, get set, go! The 1st and 2nd semesters introduce you to studying at university. You will learn what EUCS is all about and choose your focus for later semesters (either European cultures or European society). You will also be introduced to academic thinking, i.e., how to ask questions, conduct research, and formulate logical answers.

From now on, you will focus on one of two options: European cultures or European society. Don’t worry, that doesn’t mean you won’t hear anything about the other subject.

You will delve deeper into topics and carry out practical projects to apply what you have learned to real-life situations – for example, in the fields of storytelling with space, university research, journalism, or creative business. You will take part in exciting discussions in interactive seminars.

Pack your bags: It’s time for your semester abroad! You can choose from almost 90 partner universities, but you are free to choose any university you wish. The semester abroad is a great opportunity to explore the world. You will receive support with the planning.

In the sixth and final semester, you will write your thesis. You will meet weekly with other students, and lecturers who will support you in this process.

In addition, you will attend your final seminars on current topics.

Semester abroad: Out into the world!

A semester abroad is planned for the 4th or 5th semester of the EUCS degree program.

This is mandatory – you need it to graduate. But don’t panic: the International Center will help you with every step of the planning process. And your semester abroad will be financed by the Erasmus program.

You will spend your semester abroad at one of EUF’s nearly 90 partner universities worldwide or any other university of your choice. This will allow you to deepen your foreign language skills and your intercultural communication abilities – of course, you’ll make new friends and have an unforgettable experience.
