B.A. Thesis

Die rechtlichen und verbindlichen Informationen im Zusammenhang mit der Dissertation sind nun in zwei separaten Dokumenten zu finden:

• Prüfungs- und Studienordnung (Satzung) der Europa-Universität Flensburg für den Studiengang European Cultures and Society mit dem Abschluss Bachelor of Arts (PStO B.A. EUCS 2023)
• Rahmenprüfungsordnung (Satzung) der Europa-Universität Flensburg (RaPO 2020)

Die Abschlussarbeit ist ein Teil des EUCS und muss abgeschlossen werden, um das Studium zu beenden.

Das Modul TH: Bachelorarbeit (15 ECTS) besteht aus:

• Einem Kolloquium (2 SWS). Im Kolloquium präsentieren und diskutieren die Studierenden ihr Exposé und den aktuellen Stand ihrer Arbeit.
• Eine Bachelorarbeit (ca. 40 Seiten oder ca. 15.000-18.000 Wörter plus Literaturverzeichnis)

Mit der Bachelorarbeit weisen die Studierenden nach, dass sie in der Lage sind, innerhalb einer vorgegebenen Frist ein Problem aus dem Fachgebiet des Studiengangs mit den erforderlichen Methoden zu bearbeiten. Dieser Zeitraum besteht aus 4 Monaten.

Für das Kolloquium melden sich die Studierenden über Studiport an, wie für alle anderen Veranstaltungen des Studiengangs auch.

Die Anmeldung zur Abschlussarbeit erfolgt jedoch direkt im Prüfungsamt mit einem dafür vorgesehenen Formular.

Wichtig: zum Zeitpunkt der Abgabe der Arbeit müssen Studierende eingeschrieben sein. Wenn Sie Ihre Abschlussarbeit nach dem Ende des Semesters abgeben möchten, müssen Sie die Semesterbeiträge rechtzeitig entrichtet haben.

ERSTES

Für die Anmeldung zur Bachelorarbeit benötigen Sie ein spezielles Formular des Prüfungsamtes.
Sie müssen folgende Angaben eintragen:

• Ihren Personaldaten,
• den Titel der Bachelorarbeit (Bitte achten Sie auf eine grammatikalisch korrekte Schreibweise des Titels. Dieser Titel wird dann in Ihrem Abschlusszeugnis mit dem genauen Wortlaut, den Sie auf Ihrer Anmeldung angegeben haben, wiedergegeben.)
• die Namen der Personen, die die Arbeit betreuen/prüfen (lesbar), ihre Unterschriften und das Datum der Unterschrift (Wenn es schwierig oder unmöglich ist, die erforderlichen Unterschriften zu erhalten, können der Personen, die die Arbeit betreuen/prüfen auch per E-Mail bestätigen, dass sie Ihre Arbeit betreuen.
• Ihre Unterschrift und das Datum der Unterschrift.

ZWEITES

Senden Sie das korrekt ausgefüllte Dokument zur Anmeldung der Thesis per E-Mail, per Post oder persönlich an das Prüfungsamt (SPA).

DRITTENS

Ihre Thesis-Anmeldung wird dem EUCS-Prüfungsausschuss zur Genehmigung vorgelegt.

VIERTENS

Nach der Genehmigung erhalten Sie vom Prüfungsamt eine E-Mail mit dem Abgabetermin für die Thesis, mit Anweisungen, wie und wo die Arbeit abzugeben ist und mit einer Frist, um zu überprüfen, ob alles mit der Anmeldung in Ordnung ist, usw.

FÜNFTES

Von diesem Zeitpunkt an können Sie mit dem Schreiben Ihrer Arbeit beginnen.

ZUERST: Nehmen Sie sich Zeit, um sich ein Thema zu überlegen und die Dozierenden zu finden, die Ihre Arbeit betreuen könnten. Planen Sie ca. 1 bis 3 Monate für die Themenfindung, die Kontaktaufnahme mit den potenziellen Betreuungspersonen, das Gespräch mit ihnen, die eventuelle Anpassung des Themas der Abschlussarbeit usw. ein.

Bevor Sie sich mit der gewünschten Betreuungsperson treffen, sollten Sie bereits eine Vorstellung von einem möglichen Thema, über das Sie schreiben möchten, und von den möglichen Methoden zur Beantwortung der zu untersuchenden Frage haben. Erst danach sollten Sie auf eine potenzielle Betreuungsperson zugehen.
Die erste Kontaktaufnahme sollte per E-Mail erfolgen, um einen Termin zu vereinbaren, bei dem Sie sich über die Möglichkeit einer Person und, wenn möglich, über die bisher gesammelten Ideen austauscht.
Bei dem Treffen sollten Sie bereits mit der ersten Betreuungsperson versuchen, einen Titel für die Arbeit festzulegen, damit Sie beim Treffen mit der zweiten Betreuungsperson bereits einen Titel haben.

ZWEITENS: Sobald Sie Ihr Thema, Ihre Betreuungspersonen und das unterschriebene Anmeldeformular haben, können Sie sich für Ihre Thesis anmelden.

DRITTENS: Ihre Anmeldung muss vom EUCS-Prüfungsausschuss geprüft werden. Dies kann in komplizierten Semesterzeiten bis zu 1 Woche dauern.

VIERTENS: Sobald der Prüfungsausschuss Ihr Thema bestätigt hat, erhalten Sie vom Prüfungsamt eine E-Mail mit dem Abgabetermin für Ihre Abschlussarbeit. Sie haben nun 4 Monate Zeit, die Arbeit zu schreiben.

FÜNFTENS: Wenn Sie die Thesis innerhalb der vorgegebenen 4-monatigen Frist fertiggestellt haben, müssen Sie die Thesis beim Prüfungsamt abgeben.
Bitte beachten Sie die Hinweise zur Abgabe der Arbeit in der in Schritt VIER erwähnten E-Mail.
Die Thesis muss in Papierform, in 3 Exemplaren, jeweils mit einer digitalen Version und jeweils mit einer unterschriebenen Anti-Plagiat-Erklärung abgegeben werden.
Sie können die Arbeit persönlich oder per Post und ausschließlich beim Prüfungsamt abgeben. Das für EUCS zuständige Prüfungsamt ist der IIM SPA.
Nach Eingang der Arbeit wird diese abgestempelt, um die Einhaltung der Frist zu gewährleisten.
Eine Übersendung der Arbeit per E-Mail oder direkt an die Betreuungspersonen kann nicht berücksichtigt werden.

SECHSTENS: Das Prüfungsamt schickt die Arbeit dann an Ihre Betreuungspersonen, damit diese sie korrigieren können. Die offizielle Korrekturzeit beträgt 8 Wochen.

SIEBTENS: Irgendwann zwischen der Abgabe der Arbeit und dem Erhalt Ihrer Note wird Ihre Arbeit mit einer Anti-Plagiatssoftware überprüft.

ACHTENS: Sobald Ihre Arbeit korrigiert ist, wird die Note in Studiport eingetragen und Sie haben Ihr Studium abgeschlossen. Von diesem Zeitpunkt an können Sie Ihre Abschlusszeugnisse beantragen. Diese Beantragung erfolgt online.

Bitte rechnen Sie mit einer Zeit von ca. 2 bis 3 Wochen, bis Ihr Abschlusszeugnis zur Abholung bereitliegt. Das Abschlusszeugnis kann nicht per Post verschickt werden und muss persönlich an der Universität abgeholt werden, entweder durch den jeweiligen Studierenden oder durch eine bevollmächtigte Person.

Die Thesis wird von einer Betreuungsperson betreut und von der und dem Prüfenden unabhängig bewertet. Die Betreuungsperson und Prüfende können Dozierenden sein, die akademisch mit der EUF und insbesondere mit dem EUCS verbunden sind. Mindestens einer der beiden muss regelmäßig auf dem Gebiet des Themas der Dissertation lehren.
Lehrbeauftragte können keine Dissertationen betreuen.
Der EUCS-Prüfungsausschuss ist für die Entscheidung über Ausnahmen von diesen Regeln zuständig.
