Bloomsday

The FSV and Michelle Witen are organizing a belated Bloomsday/end of semester party in the Community Garden on June 25 -- celebrating the end of semester alongside the day on which James Joyce's Ulysses takes place. To be clear, no prior knowledge of Joyce is necessary!!

What's Bloomsday?

For those of you who have never heard the term "Bloomsday" before, this is the day on which James Joyce's Ulysses takes place (June 16, 1904; though we'll be doing ours on June 25). It is celebrated all over the world with the staging of scenes from Ulysses, singing of songs that come up in the book, and attempts at retracing Leopold Bloom's day in Dublin. Our version will be a little less traditional, but it will still involve some dramatic scenes from Joyce, food, music, a BBQ, and lots of merriment.
