Sculpture Exhibition "Leid und Unrecht"
Foyer des Gebäudes Helsinki
The sculpture exhibition for the Schleswig-Holstein art competition "Leid und Unrecht" [Suffering and Injustice] can be seen in the foyer of the Helsinki building.
The sculptures, by the Schleswig-Holstein artists Susan Walke (1st place), Ute Dietz (2nd place), and Eve Wiemer (3rd place) commemorate the fate of children and young people who experienced suffering and injustice in institutions for the disabled, child and youth psychiatry, or the former youth welfare services between 1949 and 1975.
The Ministry of Social Affairs announced the art competition in 2020 together with the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and the State Association of Visual Artists [Landesverband Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler]. The prize was financially supported by the German aid foundation "Stiftung Anerkennung und Hilfe."
The exhibition officially opens on March 28, 2023 at 5:30 pm in the foyer of the Helsinki Building.
