DokNet - EUF's Interdisciplinary Doctoral Network

The Interdisciplinary Doctoral Network (DokNet) is a self-organized association of doctoral researchers. Since 2010, it has been open to anyone who is or is planning on pursuing a PhD at EUF.

The overarching goal of DokNet is to connect researchers in the qualification phase at EUF. It particularly targets research associates and academic staff, project staff, scholarship and fellowship holders, and external doctoral candidates. DokNet is a place for academic networking among doctoral candidates and promotes informal exchange between them.

DokNet Events

The members of DokNet organise regular events:

  • DokNet Lunch Break: every first Wednesday of the month (during term time) at 11.45 am in the canteen. Next dates: 4 Nov. 2026; 2 Dec. 2026; 6 Jan. 2027

  • Writing Week (next date, including a workshop: 26–30 Jan. 2026)
  • Writing retreat (probably in June 2027, tbc)

We’re always open to ideas for new projects and formats!

DokNet is coordinated by the team of spokespersons, which currently consists of four people. The team of spokespersons is elected by all DokNet members for a one-year term. The election takes place at the DokNet meeting. In addition to electing the spokespersons, the meeting is also used to discuss current issues and concerns, report on ongoing projects and exchange views.

The DokNet spokespersons see themselves as facilitators and coordinators both within DokNet and externally. A vibrant, long-term stable network also relies on many interested and committed individuals who contribute their topics and ideas and support DokNet’s work. Active involvement is by no means compulsory, but we welcome anyone who would like to get involved! Participating in our network’s events also enriches DokNet, strengthens our shared interests and promotes exchange.

PhD students and prospective PhD students are therefore warmly invited to join DokNet, benefit from the network and, if they wish, get involved! We also look forward to welcoming interested parties from universities, universities of applied sciences and the wider region. You can contact DokNet and the team of speakers via doknet@uni-flensburg.de. External PhD students without a university email address are also very welcome to become members!

Registration and membership are, of course, free of charge!
