“Let’s celebrate the opening of the EMERGE HUB in the Helsinki Foyer with music, food, and performances – everyone is invited!”

Event Concept: The EMERGE Tree of Voices

A large symbolic tree made from recycled materials will fill the 7-meter vertical space of the Helsinki-Foyer.

Paper and fabric leaves with multilingual quotes from visitors, students, staff, and lecturers express what resilience, inclusion, and sustainability mean to them. Over three days, these voices will grow into a shared artwork.

About the EMERGE HUB

The EMERGE HUB is an open meeting point and part of the EMERGE project of Europa-Universität Flensburg, developed in cooperation.

It offers an open space for encounters, exchange, and creative collaboration among students, staff, citizens, and partners. The HUB brings the EMERGE values of inclusion, resilience, and sustainability to life in everyday university life.

OPENING SOUNDSCAPE

Short poems related to resilience, sustainability, or inclusion.

INTERACTIVE MOMENT – “LEAF YOUR MARK”

All visitors are invited to actively contribute to the EMERGE Tree of Voices.

Participants can write short multilingual messages on paper or fabric leaves — each consisting of one sentence related to hope, welcome, or engagement.

Possible themes include:

▪ “What gives me strength in challenging times?”
▪ Reflections on inclusion, resilience, and sustainability
▪ Words of encouragement and solidarity

After the program, we will enjoy a buffet and drinks, providing time to celebrate and network together.
