Studied energy technology, followed by a doctorate and habilitation at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. Claudia Werner then worked at the German Aerospace Center and taught at various colleges and universities (Berlin University of Applied Sciences, University of Hamburg, Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg). 

Claudia Werner has been Professor of Energy Storage Systems Technology at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences since 2019 and teaches in the fields of energy storage technology, electrochemical energy technology, photovoltaics and fuel cells as well as energy and sustainability.

Her research focuses on energy system analysis and technology assessment, energy and storage concepts for mobile and stationary applications, hydrogen and fuel cell systems as well as combined heat and power generation and renewable energy systems.
