The B.A. European Cultures and Society and M.A. European Studies invite you to this Holiday Lecture:

"Europe and Russian Foreign Intelligence in times of War" by

Thomas Wegener Friis

Associate Professor and head of the Center for Cold War Studies at the University of Southern Denmark

Visiting Professor at the Europa-Universität Flensburg

The Russian war in the Ukraine is being fought in several theatres, both with military and economic means. However, also intelligence agencies play an increasing role in the conflict between the Russian Federation and the Ukraine and her Western allies. Often, our Western means and resources are downplayed, still our Western democracies are stronger than they appear at first sight.  The Holiday lecture takes a closer look at the world of Intelligence both from a historical and current perspective.

Date: December 11th, 2023

Time: 6pm

Location: HEL 063

The lecture and the Q&A will be held in English.  Afterwards, there will be an informal get-together with mulled wine and some holiday cookies to celebrate the holiday season and the coming to an end of the Fall semester.

We look forward to seeing you!
