POSTCOLONIAL EUROPEAN- CARIBBEAN ENTANGLEMENTS
Advanced Workshop 25.06.2026
This workshop addresses past and present inequalities in the context of coloniality as the
material condition of modern life. We want to discuss outlines of responsibility for radical
care as we explore reparative conjunctures (Lewis 2024) and creative possibilities
(Noxolo 2025). We want to focus our discussions on postcolonial places in Europe and
the Caribbean and their multi-century entanglements. Places are the moments through
which the global is constituted, invented, coordinated, produced (Massey 2004).
Objective of our workshop is an interdisciplinary exploration and critical engagement with
creativity, as current focus in Black studies and as necessary to Black life.
Further discussions as well as Q und A`s on the following two topics:
Topic 1: Postcolonial Responsibilities and Epistemic Violence
Topic 2: Conditions and Consequences of Reparatory Justice
