Ziel dieses Workshops ist es, auf bereits Geleistetes in der Kolonialen und Postkolonialen Linguistik hinzuweisen, andererseits aber auch bestehende Desiderate zu identifizieren und den Bedarf und die Möglichkeiten einer Neuorientierung des Forschungsfeldes in die Soziolinguistik, die Historische Soziolinguistik, Kreolistik und Dokumentationslinguistik auszuloten.

The aim of this workshop is to highlight the achievements of Colonial and Postcolonial Linguistics, but also to identify existing gaps and explore the need for and potential of a reorientation of the field towards sociolinguistics, historical sociolinguistics, creole studies and documentation linguistics.
