Calendar Details for European Cultures and Society

The Fall Semester is halfway through, and winter is approaching! This is the perfect time to invite you to the EUCS & EUS Winter Lecture.

We are pleased to welcome an invited lecturer who will share his insights on a fascinating topic. Join us for an evening of academic exchange, discussion, and the opportunity to meet and catch up with colleagues and fellow students.

After the lecture, we will have a small get-together to mark the approaching end of the semester. The EUCS Student representative(s) will provide cookies and mulled wine, so there will also be time to relax and enjoy some informal conversations. ☕🍪

Guest lecturer: Prof. Dr. Dag Nikolaus Hasse
Institute for Philosophy, University of Würzburg

Lecture title: Eurocentrism and Anti-Europeanism

The topic could hardly be more timely, given the current state of affairs in Europe and the many political, economic, social, and media-related debates surrounding it.

📅 Date: 24 November
🕕Time: 18:00
📍Location: TAL 007

This guest lecture is offered in the context of Project INES – INclusivity in European Studies, an initiative dedicated to promoting inclusion and diversity in the field of European Studies. By bringing different perspectives into academic discussions about Europe, the project seeks to encourage a more inclusive understanding of European cultures, societies, and identities. The lecture provides an opportunity to reflect on how Europe is perceived, discussed, and challenged.

We look forward to seeing you there!
