Favorite Books Discussion Series: "Ghosts"
Carl-von-Ossietzky Buchhandlung
Following the successful launch of the discussion series in May 2023, the "Favorite Books" series continues. This time, we'll focus on the theme of ghosts!
The Brandes Society for Literary Communication and Cultural Transfer (Flensburg) and the Institute for German Studies at Europa-Universität Flensburg warmly invite all enthusiasts - anyone who has favorite books of their own, those eager to engage in a lively discussion about treasured old and new books, and those who would simply like to listen in on the discussion.
Our program once again features three intriguing and promising (ghostly) book presentations:
- Anna Katharina Mangold discussing Klaus Mann's "Mephisto" (1936).
- Dominik Zink on Sharon Dodua Otoo's "Adas Raum" (2021).
- Carsten Bleitzhofer delving into John Burnside's "Glister" (2009).
Each book will be given a 30-minute segment, divided into 10 minutes each for the presentation, on-stage discussion, and audience interaction.
We're excited to welcome anyone who'd like to join us!
