Europe Week 2025 - Reading as part of Hope and Despair
In the context of this year's Europe Week at the EUF and the 80th anniversary of the end of the war, Flensburg author Michael Jensen will be reading from his trilogy Totenland on 7 May. The historically based crime series raises central questions about individual responsibility, guilt and moral decisions in inhumane times. At the centre are fictional characters in real historical contexts - and the question: ‘How would I have behaved myself?’ The event is part of the German-Danish Interreg project Hope and Despair, which deals with the memory of the Second World War across borders. It is being held in cooperation with the Brandes Gesellschaft für Literaturvermittlung and the Interdisciplinary Centre for European Studies (ICES). Venue: Heinrich-Sauermann-Haus, Museumsberg Flensburg; Admission free; Further information
