Dear (prospective) DFG applicants,
We are pleased to invite all interested colleagues to an introductory workshop as part of the DFG Proposal Workshop in Spring Semester 2026.
Date: Wednesday, 17 June
Time: 09:00–12:00
Location: RIG 514
This semester, we are offering the proposal workshop in a slightly revised format compared to previous semesters: it will consist of an introductory workshop providing core input, followed by a subsequent writing phase next semester.
During the three-hour introductory workshop on 17 June, we will guide you through all sections of a DFG research grant proposal, explain the respective requirements, and provide practical tips and advice for preparing your application. The workshop is designed for anyone who would like to gain a solid overview of the DFG research grant format, regardless of whether you are already working on a proposal, have initial ideas, or simply wish to learn more about the process. In addition to the main input, sample texts will be discussed, and there will be ample opportunity for your questions. Depending on participants’, the workshop will be conducted in German or English.
For those who are actively working on a proposal, there will be the opportunity to participate in (a) follow-up writing session(s) after the summer break. In this second phase, you will be able to share your work in progress, exchange ideas, ask questions, and work on your proposal texts together – or simply write in a focused and productive environment. The exact format and dates of this second part of the proposal workshop will be discussed together with you on 17 June.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards
