06.11.2024 - Dissertation by Efe Özek successfully defended!

Efe Özek, former researcher and lecturer at the Department of Comparative Political Economy at the Europa-Universität Flensburg, has successfully defended his dissertation on "Constrained Opportunities. A Comparative Study on the Impact of Immigrant Political Incorporation on Diaspora Nationalism". The department has happily celebrated with Efe and co-supervisor Floris Vermeulen from the University of Amsterdam a great day and an insightful study on the perceptions of 2nd generation Turkish migrants on their opportunities for political participation and representation in Germany and the Netherlands.

16.10.2024 – 19.10.2024 Villa Vigoni Autumn School in European Studies 2024, 2nd edition

The Villa Vigoni Autumn School took place for the second time between 16 and 19 October 2024. The Autumn School is an interdisciplinary conference for the further education of Master's and doctoral students from the following disciplines History, Political Science, Sociology, Law, Economics, European Studies, organized by Prof. Glassmann on the part of EUF. At the picturesque Lake Como, where the German-Italian Centre for European Dialogue is located, a total of 33 participants, including 4 students and 2 professors from the EUF, met with students and professors from the Universities of Hamburg, Salento, Naples Federico II and Bocconi in Milan to discuss a current topic in the field of European Studies: ‘Europe and the World. Re-thinking Identity and Democracy in the Post-Global EU’.
