The green transition and economic polarization in Europe: a multi-level assessment with Germany and Poland as case studies

This project, carried out by a team of German and Polish researchers, examines how the policies of the European green transition may affect regions and member states, and whether heterogeneous impacts carry the risk of fueling socio-economic polarization within the EU. Based on the results, the project will draw implications for the "strong policy response at all levels" sought by the European Commission.

A specific feature of the project is its multi-level approach: at the macro level, the research team will rely mainly on macroeconometrics and input-output modeling; at the meso level, it will study patents and knowledge networks using quantitative tools from machine learning and network theory; and at the micro level, it will conduct interviews, most likely in Konin and Lusatia.
