New technologies offer countless opportunities to optimize and reshape teaching and learning processes. We explore how digital media and artificial intelligence (AI) can be best utilized to support successful educational processes and how they can be meaningfully integrated into everyday classroom practices. We are particularly interested in how we can enable teachers to create more adaptive learning opportunities for their students through intelligent diagnostic tools and assessment for learning.
As part of our applied psychological research, we develop theory-driven and evidence-based concepts and digital systems, which we systematically examine in both laboratory and field settings. Our goal is to shape education sustainably within a human-centered digital transformation—easing the workload of teachers and promoting and challenging students to match their needs and reach their full potential. Our research focus lies particularly on formal educational processes within schools and higher education institutions.
