Information Event: Funding opportunities for scholars at risk due to the war in Ukraine

Meinem Kalender hinzufügen

ICES and ZeBUSS invite all interested EUF members as well as Ukrainian and other war-affected scholars from the humanities and social sciences to an information session. We will present funding opportunities and will offer an opportunity to get in touch with researchers interested in a fellowship respectively potential hosts.

The Russian army's invasion of Ukraine has had fatal consequences for many Ukrainian academics and Russian scholars that have to leave their country. Various German research funding organisations have reacted to this situation by expanding their programs. The aim is to enable refugees to continue to pursue academic activities by integrating them in the German academic system in the short term. The DFG, for example, funds cooperation in existing projects and has made the application process for post-doctoral fellowships easier for scholars at risk; the Volkswagen Foundation and the Alexander-von-Humboldt Foundation have special research fellowship programmes for (Ukrainian) scholars at risk, and the DAAD has a scholarship programme for students and doctoral candidates at risk. These and further funding opportunities are listed on the ICES website (https://www.uni-flensburg.de?id=50705&L=2).
