Applying for Admission to the B.A. Program in European Cultures and Society Apply now! Welcome! Here you can find detailed information about applying for admission to the Bachelor of Arts program in European Cultures and Society at Europa-Universität Flensburg. Selection Process The Selection Process The European Cultures and Society BA program at EUF is especially geared towards international students (degree program approval/letter issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Youth, Family and Senior Citizens, VII 515, on July 20, 2017). This degree program has an un restricted admission . Only applications received on time and in the correct form will be included in the selection process. Application Deadlines Application deadlines Most students will start their studies in the first semester (program semester 1). The application deadlines for program semesters 2-6 are also provided here for those who are applying for admission to an advanced semester. EU applicants: To begin studies in the fall semester (program semesters 1, 3 or 5) May 15 Application period opens August 15 Application period closes To begin studies in the spring semester (program semesters 2, 4 or 6) December 03 Application period opens January 15 Application period ends For Non-EU applicants: To begin studies in the fall semester (program semesters 1, 3 or 5) December 01 Application period opens August 15 Application period ends To begin studies in the spring semester (program semesters 2, 4 or 6) May 15 Application period opens July 15 Application period ends Application Process The Application Process The application to the Europa-Universität Flensburg takes place in two steps: 1. the online application process and 2. uploading of all required application documents. A parallel application/registration with the Foundation for University Admissions (DoSV) is not necessary. In the online application, you must enter all the required data for your chosen degree program. At the end of the online application, you must upload all required documents. You will find a list of the documents required for the application in the application information sheet for your degree program. The documents must be uploaded to the portal no later than the last day of the application period (application deadline). Once your documents have been received, they will be reviewed. You must then verify in the application portal whether the application is complete or whether any documents are missing. You will receive a notification in the portal and, if you have activated the function, an e-mail informing you that your application status has changed. Any missing documents listed in the application portal must be submitted no later than the application deadline. It is NOT possible to submit documents after the application deadline. If you have made a mistake in the online application, you can make changes until you have submitted the application form. If you make a mistake after submitting your application, e.g. an incorrect subject combination, you must submit a new application. You will then receive a new application number. It is important to note that you may only apply for one admission-restricted degree program (or one admission-restricted combination of subjects). If several applications are received for degree programs with restricted admission, only the last application processed by the Admissions Office will be considered in the selection process. Please note: Online applications submitted before the official application start date cannot be considered. This also applies if application documents are received after the application deadline. Applicants are solely responsible for the timely submission of their application documents. Go to the online application portal Advanced Semester Admission Applying for Admission to an Advanced Semester As a prerequisite for admission to an advanced semester, the Admissions Committee, the Examination Committee, and/or the receiving institute must have reviewed and accepted as valid any examinations you have already taken in other degree programs. They must also confirm that you place into an advanced semester. Advanced-semester applicants must submit a separate application for admission to an advanced semester (including all required documents) in addition to the normal application materials. Of course, your application for advanced-semester placement is still subject to all the admission requirements for first-semester applicants. Recognition / Advanced Placement If you have questions about transferring a course or courses taken at an external institution (recognition) or about advanced placement, please first contact the faculty advisor for your chosen degree program or subject. to subject advising Subject-specific admissions restrictions also apply for advanced semester applicants. An overview of all the available study places in all subjects and subject semesters is always available at the start of each application process. This can help you assess your chances of being admitted into a specific subject . International Applicants International Applicants All applicants to a degree program at EUF must complete the online application procedure. The following foreign applicants can apply under the same terms as German applicants: All foreign applicants or stateless persons who have acquired a German higher education entrance qualification, or who have already completed a degree program in Germany that entitles them to take up the desired degree program. Citizens of a member state of the European Union (EU) Citizens of signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA) that are not members of the EU (i.e. Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) Foreign applicants with family members who are citizens of a member state of the EU or of a state party to the EEA Agreement Certified copies of the school leaving certificate as well as certified German or English translations of these must be submitted, as well as proof of sufficient English language skills (see " Admission requirements " ) in plain copy. Please note: As an international applicant, you should submit your documents as early as possible or, preferably, you should submit your certificates and translations to the admissions office for review before the official application deadline (scanned documents by email). You will then receive an assessment of the certificate, which you should then submit along with your application. If an assessment is not possible, your documents must be sent by the admissions office to COFE (the central office) in Bonn. The review process there can take several months. However, in order to participate in the selection process, the result of the review must be received by the application deadline at the latest. Questions?
