Frauke Wiese has been Junior Professor for the Transformation of Energy Systems at Europa-Universität Flensburg since 2020, where she leads the interdisciplinary junior research group “Energy Sufficiency.” Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Technical University of Denmark, focusing on open and collaborative energy system modeling and teaching in this field. She completed her PhD in 2015, funded by the Reiner Lemoine Stiftung, with a focus on open-source energy system modeling. She is a co-initiator of the Open Energy Modelling Initiative. Her current research centers on modeling approaches, sufficiency, and the reduction of final energy demand in the energy transition.
