Christof Roos is the project director. He teaches at the Europa-Universität Flensburg in the field European Studies and at the study program Economy and Politics. He previously worked in the Cluster Migration and Diversity at the Institute for European Studies at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the FG Joint Research Centre of European Commission in Ispra (Italy) and the Department for European Affairs of the Senate Chancellery of the State Berlin. Since 2017 he is the ethics reviewer for the European Research Council. His research interests include EU migration politics, freedom of movement, Schengen-Convention as well as European refugee politics.

Hanna Kieschnick was a research fellow in the project and a doctoral candidate at the European University Flensburg. In the project, she mainly dealt with the case country of Romania. She studied European Studies at Syddansk Universitet in Sønderborg (Denmark) and obtained a Master's degree in International Politics and International Law at Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel, where she was also employed as a research assistant. Her master's thesis focused on the impact of social movements and protest moments on agenda setting in international institutions. 

Her research interests concern the dynamics of the EU integration process, institutional change and party systems, possibilities for action and political potentials of non-state actors, and critical perspectives on political-economic processes. 

Kseniia Cherniak is a researcher at the Europa-Universität Flensburg. In the project she is primarily investigating the case of Lithuania. Kseniia Cherniak received bachelor and master degree in sociology at the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (Ukraine) and a master degree in Sociology – European Societies at the Freie Universität Berlin (Germany). Her first master thesis focused on the influence of neoliberalism on the European value system, while in the second she positioned post-soviet sociology between sociology from the Global South and the Global North under the framework of global academic inequalities.

Her research interests concern European integration, European politics, social and academic inequalities and discourse analysis.

Martin Seeliger is a research fellow and the Head of the Department ‘Transformation of the Work Society’ at the Institute of Labour and Economy, University of Bremen. He is a project partner. Martin Seeliger studied sociology at the Ruhr University in Bochum (Germany) and graduated (magna cum laude) from the Max Planck Institute for Social Research (Germany) with the work ‘Social Construction of Organized Interests. Trade union policy in the process of European integration’. He also recently completed his habilitation on the topic ‘Negotiated Globalization’. Previously he was working as a research fellow at the Friedrich-Schiller-University Vienna, Europa-Universität Flensburg and Hamburg University.

His research interests are related to labour and organisational sociology, political sociology, cultural studies, including works on collective labour relations, economic crises, digitalisation, institutional change of political economies and the structural change of the public.

Max Nagel is a post-doctoral researcher at the IAW Institute for Labour and Economy at the University of Bremen. In the project he is dealing with the case of Portugal. Max Nagel received his undergraduate degree in International Economics and Development from Bayreuth University (Germany) and a graduate degree in Economic and Financial Sociology from Goethe University Frankfurt (Germany). Recently he received his PhD summa cum laude at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence, Italy. In his PhD thesis he used both qualitative and quantitative methods to map and explain diverging monetary, financial, and foreign policies in Latin America and East Asia since the 1970s, including field work in Argentina, Chile, Japan, and South Korea.

His research interests revolve around international political economy, the politics of expert knowledge, international migration as well as institutional change.
