Podium discussion "Bildungspartner Landwirtschaft: Themen, Ideen, Projekte"

Prof. Dr. Birgit Peuker explores how agriculture can become a partner in education

How can agricultural enterprises transform into high-quality operational learning sites?

This question is the focus of a discussion at this year's NORLA Consumer Fair. Participating in the debate are Prof. Dr. Birgit Peuker, Professor of Nutrition and Home Economics and their Professional Didactics at Europa-University Flensburg (EUF), Anne Benett-Sturies, State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Areas, Europe, and Consumer Protection; Dr. Dorit Stenke, State Secretary in the Ministry of General and Vocational Education, Science, Research, and Culture; and Janina Schöttler, an agriculturalist and primary school teacher from Neversdorf.

Statewide educational initiative on agriculture, nutrition and consumer protection (BiLEV)

This central question underpins the statewide educational initiative "Landwirtschaft, Ernährung und Verbraucherschut" (BiLEV) on the topic of agriculture, nutrition and consumer protection. The initiative aims to introduce students in secondary levels I and II to modern agriculture and healthy food production, while enhancing or establishing their connection to local agriculture. Europa-University Flensburg plays a pivotal role in this educational drive, overseeing the academic supervision and implementation of the project.

The BiLEV initiative is part of the ongoing dialogue about the future of agriculture in Schleswig-Holstein.

The panel discussion is on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Deula Festhalle.
