Forschungsansatz

An der Abteilung Plurale Ökonomik untersuchen wir wirtschaftliche Phänomene aus dem Blickwinkel verschiedener Paradigmen und mit unterschiedlichen Methoden. Der thematische Schwerpunkt unserer Forschung liegt dabei auf Fragen nach den Ursachen für globale Ungleichheit, den Effekten und institutionellen Besonderheiten aktueller Globalisierungsdynamiken, den Determinanten und Folgen technologischen Wandels und internationalem Wettbewerb, sowie den Wegen hin zu einer sozial gerechten und ökologisch nachhaltigen sozial-ökologischen Transformation unseres Wirtschaftssystems. Neben Pluralität ist unser Forschungsansatz auch durch interdisziplinäre Anschlussfähigkeit gekennzeichnet.

Darüber hinaus setzen wir uns mit den wissenschaftsphilosophischen Grundlagen einer pluralen Ökonomik auseinander. Im Mittelpunkt steht hierbei die Frage ob, und wenn ja wie, die Triangulation verschiedener Theorien, Methoden oder Paradigmen dem wissenschaftlichen Vorankommen dienlich ist. Auch die wissenschaftssoziologische Analyse des Status Quo der Volkswirtschaftslehre ist Teil unserer Arbeit: so untersuchen wir vor allem empirisch, ob wir in der modernen Volkswirtschaftslehre noch unterschiedliche Paradigmen identifizieren können, und in welchen Bereichen die Volkswirtschaftslehre als mehr oder weniger plural gelten kann.

Forschungsprojekte

The green transition and economic polarization in Europe

In diesem Projekt untersuchen wir mit unseren polnischen Partner:innen, inwiefern sich die politischen Maßnahmen der europäischen grünen Transformation unterschiedlich auf Regionen und Mitgliedstaaten auswirken und in diesem Kontext das Risiko einer sozioökonomischen Polarisierung innerhalb der EU verstärken. Auf der Grundlage der Ergebnisse wird das Projekt Implikationen für die von der Europäischen Kommission angestrebte "strong policy response at all levels" ableiten.
