Target group:
The B2.1 English language level course is for students who want to expand on their previous English language knowledge at an advanced level. The course is suitable for students who have completed the B1.2 course (intermediate) or have approximately 360 classroom hours of English language lessons.
Content:
The focus of this is on advanced English language skills. Attention is paid to the four primary language skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The course is rooted in an English for academic purposes pedagogy but is applicable to everyday life.
Regular and active participation is required for successful completion of the course. This includes the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom.
Assessment:
Regular and active participation in the class.
Completion of homework assignments.
Exam on the last day of class.
The course consists of 30 classroom hours. Attendance is compulsory. If you wish to receive a certificate, you may not be absent for more than 6 class hours (20%). The final grade is composed of 30% class participation and 70% final exam.

Target group:
The Academic Literacy and English course is for students who have some B2 or higher level of English; approximately 600+ hours of instruction. The course is designed to improve English skills in the context of the university and higher education and aimed at undergraduate students. Emphasis is placed on academic research and writing skills. Participants will develop their academic vocabulary and academic voice in oral and written language.
Course content:
The course is taught using a project based instruction method that can be used in conjunction with your other courses. Together we will read and discuss selective readings, write a short project on a shared topic and a longer project on a topic of your choosing. Your academic English skills will improve as well as your general English abilities.
Assessment:
Regular and active participation in the course. Regular written homework culminating in portfolio of work turned in the final day of class.

The building academic vocabulary short course is for students with a B2 English level proficiency or higher (B2-C2) who want to expand their vocabulary for academic purposes and/or want to “close the gap” between non-native and native like English proficiency.
Content:
This is a self-study course with instructor support. This means you have access to all the materials, including answer keys, and that an instructor oversees the structure and timing of activities, as well as answers any questions throughout the semester. The first part of the course focuses on vocabulary development and the uses words from the General Service List. The second part of the course provides practice using words from the Academic Word List sublists 1-5.

The course is designed to improve your listening and note taking skills in an academic environment. Emphasis is on understanding spoken academic English lectures and producing useful notes from said lectures. Participants will develop their note taking abilities as well as increase their academic vocabulary and understanding of spoken English.
Course Content:
This is an instructor led course focused on developing your academic listening skills. The course uses authentic listening materials to engage students in understanding the micro-and macro-skills they will need for listening to lectures and producing useful notes.
Assessment:
Regular active participation in the class. Completion of homework assignments. A portfolio of collected work due on the last day of class.
Technology:
This course may use the learning management software, moodle, and the book comes with two course CDs.
