Biodiverse and interconnected: The Garden of Diversity
Together with the pond work, the construction work for the biogarden in the campus roundabout began in February. This biogarden had lain fallow for the last few years and was not used for either research or teaching. This is to change:
On the one hand, the redesign of the garden will create a species-rich area that will serve as a habitat for insects, amphibians and reptiles with deadwood hedges, sand hills and seeds native to the area.

On the other hand, the future garden with a greenhouse, various raised beds, rainwater cistern, an intelligent irrigation system and a composting plant offers many opportunities for interdisciplinary cooperation, also in teaching. Co-operations with other departments, such as Physical Education, Nutrition and Consumer Education, Physical Geography, Textiles and Fashion, are possible.
At the end of April, a large part of the construction work will be completed.
