Information on the responses

All applicants who submit their applications by the deadline will receive feedback. There are three options for feedback: 1) an approval notice, 2) a nomination for the list of substitutes, and 3) a rejection.

What is the meaning of this feedback?

Granting of a Deutschlandstipendium

The decision of a granting of a Deutschlandstipendium means that you have successfully completed the application procedure and will receive a scholarship of 300.00 euros per month for the twelve-month funding period. For the funding period, which comprises the Fall Semester 2018/19 and the Spring Semester 2019, a total of 16 scholarship holders will be selected from all eligible applications submitted by the deadline.

The selection was based on a basic value of your application, which results from the above-mentioned and proven weighted school and/or academic achievements. Bonus points could be credited to the underlying value through proven voluntary commitment and/or special study-relevant achievements and/or special challenges. The total value of an application is calculated from the base value minus the bonus points achieved.

In this way, a total value was calculated for all eligible applications, which in turn resulted in a ranking. The 16 applications with the lowest total values will now receive the Deutschlandstipendium.

Please note that you are required to notify us of any changes that result in an exclusion from a grant, e.g. the completion of your studies.

Nomination for the successors list

A nomination for the successors list means for you that you still have the chance to receive one of the 16 Deutschlandstipendien within the current Fall Semester or in the upcoming Spring Semester. This is the case if one of the scholarships is terminated before the end of its regular duration, e.g. if a scholarship recipient discontinues or ends his or her studies.

If this is the case, the remaining financial means available can be allocated to successors. Please note that a nomination for the list of successors does not guarantee that you will receive a scholarship. The successors list is drawn up according to the same procedure as the ranking of the 16 scholarship recipients. In the event of premature termination, the replacement will be made according to the rank achieved.

We will inform you in due course.

Rejection

A rejection means for you that you will unfortunately not receive a Deutschlandstipendium in the funding period that covers the Fall Semester 2018/19 and the Spring Semester 2019. There can be many reasons for this. In principle, the procedure is regulated by the Guidelines for Awarding German Scholarships from the Scholarship Fund of the Europa-Universität Flensburg - Scholarship Guidelines:

It applies that the basic value on which your application is based, which results from the above-mentioned and proven weighted school and/or academic achievements, must not exceed 2.3.

Bonus points can be credited to the underlying value through proven voluntary commitment and/or special study-relevant achievements and/or special challenges. In order to be eligible for funding, at least 0.4 bonus points must be earned.

The total value of an application is calculated from the base value minus the bonus points achieved. In this way, a total value was calculated for all eligible applications, which in turn resulted in a ranking.

The placement within the ranking is now decisive as to whether you are eligible for funding. The 16 applications with the lowest total values can be supported by the Deutschlandstipendium.
