- Course for those wishing to write effective, well-structured and idiomatic academic texts. For exchange students, 3 CPs are available on successful completion of an exam.
The course provides information and tools to help you write an academic text in English. We will work through exercises dealing with aspects of academic style, language use, grammar, punctuation and text structure. The topic of plagiarism will be addressed. Assistance and feedback will be available for those of you who will be writing essays or term papers.

- Writing sessions for those working on an existing writing project (presentation, essay, term paper, thesis, academic article etc.)
The sessions provide a virtual space to work on an existing writing project without distractions, the possibility to exchange ideas with others, and the opportunity to obtain a consultation with a native speaker about your written text or writing plans. Support will be provided for the self-correction of your text. The sessions run throughout the semester.
Please note: Entry into the writing sessions is possible at any time throughout the semester. Attendance as required.

- Support for Bachelor’s students in the writing of their thesis
The weekly sessions provide a virtual space to work on your thesis and the opportunity to obtain advice from a native English speaker on topics such as language/grammar, style, text structure and citing/referencing. Support can be given throughout your writing process to enable self-correction of your text with the aim of achieving clarity and consistency.

Description
- A course for those wishing to practice important aspects of English grammar and vocabulary use in an academic context. For exchange students, 3 CPs are available on successful completion.
The course is exercise-based with a range of topics including: finite verb forms for present, past & future time; non-finite verb forms and their use in academic texts; verb patterns; passive voice (as an alternative to personal language); sentence structure and linking; clauses (relative, participle etc.); collocations; articles and prepositions. Conversation will be encouraged during the sessions to improve fluency.

Extensive feedback can be given to your texts as well as support in the correction of language issues and the improvement with issues relating to clarity and structure.

Writing assistance for those working on an existing writing project: an essay, presentation, paper, thesis, application, proposal etc. Takes place in the first week of the semester break and provides a virtual space for people to write and/or receive advice and assistance from a native speaker. Description
- Parallel workshops for those unsure what plagiarism is and how it can be avoided
Topics include: types of plagiarism, general knowledge and personal experience, quoting and paraphrasing, summarising from a single source, citing and referencing sources.
Exercises will be used to enhance understanding of the presented information.
