Description
Language of instruction: German
This course is aimed at participants with no previous knowledge of Swedish. The main focus is on teaching the first basics of the Swedish language. We learn the basics in vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar, which are sufficient for a small conversation. After the course, participants will be able to introduce themselves in Swedish, talk about their everyday life and leisure activities, do everyday things like shopping in Swedish and pronounce everything correctly in the furniture store. The language course is designed so that participants complete level A1 according to the European Framework of Reference in one semester.
The course is an online course and combines classroom teaching phases on Webex with self-learning phases. The face-to-face teaching is essential for individual learning progress, especially pronunciation and listening comprehension, and the group experience in the course. The self-study phase enables and encourages learning according to one's own methods and time management. The assessment basis for passing the course is a portfolio, which is created during the course.
A language course thrives on people meeting each other. It is therefore particularly important that you participate actively on a regular basis and prepare well. We would like to point out that in an online course the emphasis during the attendance time is on the classroom conversation, while listening and reading tasks are more self-study. One advantage of online teaching is that you can receive extensive feedback on written performance.
The course consists of 30 attendance hours. Attendance is compulsory. If you want to have a certificate of achievement, you may not be absent for more than 6 teaching hours (20%). The final grade is made up of 30% class participation and 70% final exam.
You will receive an invitation to Webex by email by the first day of class.
