The French A1.2 course is suitable for students with some previous knowledge.
Using everyday conversation topics and situations (greetings and introductions; nationality and language; food and drink, travel, addresses and numbers), the basic knowledge from the French A1.1 course is consolidated and further developed.
The course takes place once a week.
The language course is designed so that participants complete the second sub-level (A1.2) according to the European Framework of Reference in one semester.
Regular and active participation is a prerequisite for successful completion of the course. This also requires the completion of homework in order to further practise and consolidate what has been learned.
The course consists of 30 attendance hours. Attendance is compulsory. If you want to have a certificate of achievement, you may not be absent for more than 6 lessons (20%). The final grade is made up of 30% class participation and 70% final exam.

Language of instruction: German and French
The French A2.2 course is aimed at French learners who have attended the previous A2.1 course or have a good basic knowledge.
In this course we will focus on three main topics:
Everyday life, going to the doctor, talking about your neighbours, your home, fashionable clothes.
Our second main topic will be about holidays, weather, traffic, how to book a hotel room, writing a postcard and finally everything that keeps us busy during the holidays.
In the last part of the course we will talk about France, its landscapes and customs. We will make some comparisons with two French-speaking countries, Switzerland and Belgium.
This course takes place once a week. It is designed so that at the end of the semester you will reach level A2, the criteria of which are defined by the European Framework of Reference.

The French course B1.2 is suitable for participants with a solid basic knowledge who have successfully completed a B1.1 course with a certificate of achievement.
The aim of this course is to acquire an extended basic knowledge of the French language based on everyday conversation topics (e.g. leisure, media, work, culture, etc.). Participants will familiarise themselves with the vocabulary and idioms of the intermediate level, improve their pronunciation and deepen their knowledge of grammar. At the end of the semester, the language level B1 (CEFR) will be reached.
Regular and active participation is a prerequisite for successful completion of the course. Homework is also required in order to practise and consolidate what has been learned.
The course consists of 30 attendance hours. Attendance is compulsory. If you want to have a certificate of achievement, you may not be absent for more than 6 lessons (20%). The final grade is made up of 30% class participation and 70% final exam.

Ce cours se fixe comme objectif de développer la compétence communicative des participant.e.s. Ils seront alors amenés à développer une argumentation construite, cohérente et détaillée et à la présenter de manière claire et méthodique, à décrire des expériences et à participer activement à une discussion informelle. Ainsi, les participant.e.s auront l’occasion de réinvestir leurs savoirs linguistiques dans des situations interactives variées et d’améliorer leur compétence de communication. Exploités à l’aide de documents fabriqués et authentiques, les chapitres tourneront autour des sujets d’intérêt général concernant la France, mais aussi la francophonie extra-hexagonale (la langue française, la protection de l’environnement, la migration, le chômage, le cinéma, la révolution numérique etc.).

Target group:
Students who will participate in an exchange programme in France. Prerequisite: French level B1 or higher
Course content:
This course provides insights into everyday life in France - in the sense of the open concept of culture. The course is divided into three main topics: social life, cultural life and public life. Content and language aspects are brought together, i.e. practical tips are given on how to organise a semester abroad (e.g. accommodation, opening a bank account, how courses are run), while communicative skills are further developed by means of role-playing, etc.
Regular and active participation is a prerequisite for successful completion of the course. This also requires the completion of homework to further practise and consolidate what has been learned.
The course consists of 15 attendance hours. Attendance is compulsory. If you want to have a certificate of achievement, you may not be absent for more than 3 lessons (20%).
