Description

This course is for students with no previous knowledge of the Italian language.

Designed for beginner students, the course is based on a communicative approach, encouraging the students to speak Italian already from the first lesson.

The course also provides basic elements of the Italian grammar required for A1.1 level: present simple, formation of plural forms, articles, adjectives, possessive adjectives .

Trying to match communication skills with grammar knowledge, during the lessons the students will be involved in interactive learning activities such as role games and group games.

The course will address the students’ learning needs and interests but, with a native speaker teacher, it also aims to stimulate their interest for Italian language and culture providing information/materials about socio-cultural aspects of contemporary Italy and the Italian lifestyle.

At the end of this level students will be able to: give a presentation about themselves, their family and friends, express preferences and speak about hobbies and activities in their free time.

In addition to other materials given in class, the book used for this class is

Al Dente – Corso d’Italiano (Unit 1-4). Please make sure the edition of the book is the one in Italian, with the following ISBN: 978-84-16657-72-8.

Description

This course is for participants with previous basic knowledge of the Italian language.

Building on the participants’ previous basic knowledge, the objective of the course is to make them complete an A1 level.

Trying to match communication skills with grammar knowledge, during the lessons the students will be involved in interactive learning activities such as role games and group games.

The grammar topics for this level include the use of present perfect (passato prossimo), partitives and irregular plural forms, modal verbs (dovere, potere, volere).

The course will address the students’ learning needs and interests but, with a native speaker teacher, it also aims to stimulate their interest for the Italian language and culture providing information and materials about socio-cultural aspects of contemporary Italy and  the Italian lifestyle.

At the end of this level students will be able to: speak about their daily routine, food preferences and local and Italian food tradition, read and write biographic information about themselves and/or famous characters, write a description of a city, country, fashion style etc.

Description

The Italian course A2.2 is aimed at those who have a basic knowledge of the Italian language at A2.1 level and wish to develop and deepen this knowledge.

With playful approaches and activities, students will be able to practice communication in Italian in groups and individually, using the example of contextual situations and current topics of Italian culture, expanding vocabulary and idioms and strengthening grammatical structures.

The following communication learning goals are pursued in the course: Finding and summarising information from different media and complex text contexts, writing reports and talking about messages, conducting an interview, making suggestions, expressing needs, promoting something, talking about future perspectives and developments. The grammar focuses on: Formation and conjugation of the time form future (indicative), the modes imperative and gerund, reflexive verbs and personal pronouns in reflexive form, as well as relative pronouns and relative clauses.

In the course of the semester, course participants complete 30 attendance hours. Regular, active participation is a necessary prerequisite for successful learning. This includes an additional 30 hours for homework, vocabulary work and the preparation of presentations and final exams.

A final exam is written on the last day of the course.
