Target group:

The "German Language Course A1.1" is for students without any previous knowledge of German.

Course content:

The focus of this course is on basic knowledge of the German language, including everyday conversational topics and situations, German grammar, and vocabulary.

You will learn, e.g., how to greet each other, ask for name, address, telephone number and subject of studies, talk about your family, understand the clock times, listen to a radio interview or talk about cultural events.

Regular and active participation is required for successful completion of the course. This includes the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom.

The course consists of 60 hours of face-to-face training. Attendance is compulsory. If you would like to receive a certificate of achievement, you may not miss more than 12 lessons (20%). If you prefer to receive a certificate of attendance, you may not miss more than 18 lessons (30%).

You have to expect an additional 60 hours of work for homework, own vocabulary work, preparation of presentations and preparation for the exam.

There will be a written exam on the last day of the course.

This course builds on the A2.1 course. The basic knowledge of German grammar and vocabulary acquired in basic course A1 and A2.1. will be further developed on the basis of everyday conversation topics and situations.

For example, you learn to talk about which films you like to see, to understand an information text about the German school system, to talk about different educational paths or to write a curriculum vitae and a letter of application, etc.

Course content:

The course continues where the B2.1 course finished. The course consolidates knowledge of German at lower levels and expands to content that is more complex. The focus of this course is on the expansion of vocabulary, written expression, and talking about controversial topics. Students will expand their means of communication and deepen their understanding of grammar.

Students will give presentations on political and cultural topics from everyday life. Extemporaneous speaking and presentations will be given in front of an audience. Students will practice presentations in academic settings, as well as the creation of an accompanying handout. Other mediated strategies and work techniques include: understand reviews (book review), information from several texts, structured writing, use notes for summaries and text coherence.

Regular and active participation is required for successful completion of the course. This includes the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom.

The course "Alltag im Studium" is suitable for foreign students who have a solid basic knowledge of the German language (A2 level successfully completed).

Course content:

The course offers intensive language training for everyday life and life on campus. The aim is to make it easier for course participants to get started in everyday study life in Germany. The following topics can be covered. The concrete selection takes place after consultation with the course participants.

·        New on campus? - Greet and say goodbye, introduce yourself and others and talk about names, origin and languages

·        "Frau Professore?" - How do I correctly address lecturers?

·        Hungry? - Pay with the Mensacard, buy food: ask and say what you want/ask for the price and reply, talk about food, cook together

·        Who helps in everyday student life? - E.g. problems with the beamer! Ask for help at ZIMT or ask for an adapter; semester ticket lost! Ask for a replacement at the Student Secretariat.

·        I need seminar literature! - Operating a copier or lending a book from the ZHB library

·        Where is ...? - Ask for and give directions: e.g. ask for a lecturer's office in a secretary's office

·        I'm too late! - Dates and appointments: Specifying times, making appointments and agreeing to apologize for a delay

·        Small talk - Clothes and weather: talk about clothes, buy clothes, indicate colours and sizes; talk about the weather

·        Party!!! - Going out and celebrating

Zielgruppe:

Der Sprachkurs „Grammatik fit“ ist für Studierende geeignet, die einen B1-Kurs absolviert haben und ihre Grammatikkenntnisse sichern und vertiefen möchten, bevor oder während sie einen B2-Kurs besuchen.

Kursinhalt und -umfang:

Wir wiederholen die A2- und B1-Grammatik. Anhand von alltäglichen Themen und Situationen sowie vielen Übungen sollen die Grammatikkenntnisse gefestigt werden. Der genaue Kursinhalt wird in Absprache mit den Teilnehmenden festgelegt. Der Kurs ist semesterbegleitend und umfasst 30 Stunden.

Eine regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme ist Voraussetzung für das Absolvieren des Kurses. Dafür ist ebenfalls das Erledigen von Hausaufgaben notwendig, um das Gelernte weiter zu üben und zu festigen.

Der Kurs „Sprechen, sprechen, sprechen..” ist für Studierende geeignet, die das Niveau B2.1 erfolgreich abgeschlossen haben, ihre erlernten sprachlichen Kompetenzen anwenden und in verschiedenen Gesprächssituationen weiter üben möchten.

Kursbeschreibung:

Der Kurs bietet ein intensives Sprechtraining. Die Kursleitung bietet Impulse und schafft verschiedene Sprechanlässe, damit die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer intensiv das Sprechen üben können. Der Kurs beinhaltet keine Lehrervorträge – die aktive Beteiligung der Kursteilnehmerinnen und Kursteilnehmer ist gefragt!

Die Sprechanlässe sind zum Beispiel: Diskussionen, Ideenaustausch, Rollenspiele, Impulsvorträge, kurze Präsentationen, Bildbeschreibungen, Gruppenarbeiten, Lernspiele oder das Besprechen und Interpretieren von Gedichten, Kurzgeschichten oder Liedern. Der kommunikative Aspekt steht dabei stets im Vordergrund und es wird ein Austausch der Kursteilnehmerinnen und Kursteilnehmer untereinander angeregt.

Dieser Kurs soll Sie dabei unterstützen, Ihr Fachstudium sprachlich und methodisch zu bewältigen.

Sie lernen ökonomisches Mitschreiben in Vorlesungen, sowie aktives strukturierendes Hören von wissenschaftlichen Vorträgen und Diskussionen.

Eine regelmäßige und aktive Teilnahme sind Voraussetzung für das erfolgreiche Absolvieren des Kurses. Dafür ist ebenfalls das Erledigen von Hausaufgaben notwendig, um das Gelernte weiter zu üben und zu festigen.

Der Kurs umfasst 30 Präsenzstunden. Es besteht Anwesenheitspflicht. Wenn Sie einen Leistungsnachweis erwerben möchten, dürfen Sie nicht mehr als 6 Unterrichtsstunden fehlen (20%). Wenn Sie einen Teilnahmenachweis haben möchten, dürfen Sie nicht mehr als 9 Unterrichtsstunden (30%) fehlen.

Sie müssen mit einem zusätzlichen Arbeitsaufwand von weiteren 30 Stunden für Hausaufgaben, eigene Wortschatzarbeit und die Vorbereitung der Abschlussprüfung rechnen.

Am letzten Kurstag findet eine Prüfung statt, bei der Sie zur Aufzeichnung eines Vortrages Aufgaben lösen müssen.

Zielgruppe:

Der Kurs „Sprechen, sprechen, sprechen..” ist für Studierende geeignet, die das Niveau B2.1 erfolgreich abgeschlossen haben, ihre erlernten sprachlichen Kompetenzen anwenden und in verschiedenen Gesprächssituationen weiter üben möchten.

Kursbeschreibung:

Der Kurs bietet ein intensives Sprechtraining. Die Kursleitung bietet Impulse und schafft verschiedene Sprechanlässe, damit die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer intensiv das Sprechen üben können. Der Kurs beinhaltet keine Lehrervorträge – die aktive Beteiligung der Kursteilnehmerinnen und Kursteilnehmer ist gefragt!

Die Sprechanlässe sind zum Beispiel: Diskussionen, Ideenaustausch, Rollenspiele, Impulsvorträge, kurze Präsentationen, Bildbeschreibungen, Gruppenarbeiten, Lernspiele oder das Besprechen und Interpretieren von Gedichten, Kurzgeschichten oder Liedern. Der kommunikative Aspekt steht dabei stets im Vordergrund und es wird ein Austausch der Kursteilnehmerinnen und Kursteilnehmer untereinander angeregt.

Wenn Sie einen Teilnahmenachweis haben möchten, dürfen Sie nicht mehr als 6 Unterrichtseinheiten (zu 45 Minuten) (30 %) fehlen. Ein Leistungsnachweis kann für diesen Kurs nicht ausgestellt werden.

Bitte bringen Sie für den Kurs ein internetfähiges Endgerät mit (Laptop, Tablet oder auch Handy). Der Kurs startet pünktlich um 9:00 Uhr.
