Target group:
The "German Language Course A1.1" is for students without any previous knowledge of German.
Course content:
The focus of this course is on basic knowledge of the German language, including everyday conversational topics and situations, German grammar, and vocabulary.
You will learn, e.g., how to greet each other, ask for name, address, telephone number and subject of studies, talk about your family, understand the clock times, listen to a radio interview or talk about cultural events.
Regular and active participation is required for successful completion of the course. This includes the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom.
There will be a written exam on the second to last or last day of the course.

The course continues where the B1.1 course finished. The focus of this course is on basic knowledge of the German language, including everyday conversational topics and situations, as well as German grammar, and vocabulary.
You will learn, e.g., to develop a business concept, write a letter to the editor, talk about the characters in a novel, file a complaint or hold a short presentation etc.
Course participants will participate in games, discussions, and presentations to practice grammatical topics as well as everyday and specific speaking situations.

The language course "German Language Course B2.2" is suitable for students with advanced knowledge who have achieved a B1 level in German plus B2.1 or have approximately 420 classroom hours of German language instruction and have taken the placement test suggesting participating in a B2.2 class.

Course content:
The course continues where the B2.1 course finished. The course consolidates knowledge of German at lower levels and expands to content that is more complex. The focus of this course is on the expansion of vocabulary, written expression, and talking about controversial topics. Students will expand their means of communication and deepen their understanding of grammar.
Students will give presentations on political and cultural topics from everyday life. Extemporaneous speaking and presentations will be given in front of an audience. Students will practice presentations in academic settings, as well as the creation of an accompanying handout. Other mediated strategies and work techniques include: understand reviews (book review), information from several texts, structured writing, use notes for summaries and text coherence.
Regular and active participation is required for successful completion of the course. This includes the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom.

The course is suitable for students at the C1 level who have either successfully completed the B2 course or have approximately 500 classroom hours of German language instruction and have taken the placement test suggesting participating in a C1 class.

This course is meant to support you to master your studies linguistically and methodologically. The focus of this course is on presenting scientific content and having a discussion.
