Target group:
The B1.1 English language level course is for students who want to expand on their previous English language knowledge at an intermediate level. The course is suitable for students who have completed the A2.2 course (pre-intermediate) or have approximately 240 classroom hours of English language lessons.
Content:
The focus of this is on intermedaite English language skills. Attention is paid to the four primary language skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The course is rooted in an English for academic purposes pedagogy but is applicable to everyday life.
Regular and active participation is required for successful completion of the course. This includes the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom. Attendance is compulsory.
The course has an online and classroom component.
Assessment:
Regular and active participation in the class.
Completion of homework assignments.
Klausur on the last day of class.

Target group:
English Presentation Skills is a course for students (and other university members) who want to learn how to write, organize, and deliver English language oral presentations or speeches. Students practice the productive skills of writing and speaking in the course.
Course content:
The focus of this course is on upper intermediate and advanced English language skills. Particular attention is paid to understanding the basic principles of speeches and presentations, planning, writing, and delivering presentations.
You will learn to write with an oral style and deliver a speech or presentation to a specific audience, as well as useful phrases and strategies for dealing with stage fright and speaking confidently.
Regular and active participation is required for successful completion of the course. This includes the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom. Attendance is compulsory.
Assessment:
Regular active participation in the class. Presentations delivered to the class during both the semester and the exam week.

Target group:
English Language Through Film is an English course for students at the B2-C1 level who want to strengthen their existing English skills, refresh skills they have, or who are planning on going abroad in the next semester. The course uses short films as an object of analysis, a starting point for discussion or a writing activity, and/or vocabulary building.
Course content:
The focus of this course is on upper intermediate and advanced English language skills. Particular attention is paid to general knowledge topics, conversational topics, and English for academic purposes. You will learn a little bit about film and whole lot about how to use the English language appropriately in an academic context.
You will learn to take notes, build an argument, present information, hold a discussion, and write short essays.
Regular and active participation is required for successful completion of the course. This includes the completion of homework in order to continue practicing and consolidating what has been learned in the classroom. Attendance is compulsory.
Assessment:
There will be a written exam on the last day of the course.
Students will also present their own analysis of a short film.
Regular written homework.
