Description

Language of instruction: Russian and German

The Russian A1.1 course is designed for students with no previous knowledge of Russian.

Step by step, students learn the Cyrillic alphabet and the basics of Russian grammar (genus of nouns, personal pronouns, conjugation types of verbs). The emphasis of the course is on active speaking and comprehension (greetings, introductions, nationality, etc.) so that simple everyday situations can be mastered in the target language. The following topics are covered in this course:

Personal presentation and getting to know people (name, nationality, profession, hobbies).

Family (family members)

Living situation (indicating place of residence, giving details of location)

The course takes place once a week. It is designed so that participants complete the first sub-level (A1.1) according to the European Framework of Reference in one semester. The course book covers chapters 1 to 4.

Description

The Russian B1.1 course is designed for students with existing language skills.

Grammatical and communicative knowledge will be further developed and deepened in this course. A special focus is on discussions and conversations. In this semester the first experiences with longer texts are made.

The B1.1 course includes the following communicative learning objectives:
     

  •     Reading and understanding timetables, communicating arrival and departure times, etc.
  •     Indicate marital status, talk about family
  •     Discuss education and professional training
  •     Discussing art, learning about Russians' preferences for literary and musical genres

     

The following grammatical topics are taught:
     

  •     Prefigured and unprefigured verbs of locomotion.
  •     Indications of times and periods
  •     possessive pronoun свой
  •     Imperative and aspect use
  •     Indications of age
  •     Passive constructions
  •     Relative and negative pronouns    


The course takes place once a week and is designed so that participants complete the first sub-level (B 1.1) according to the European Framework of Reference in one semester.
